At Whisp, nighttime comfort begins with the material closest to the body.
Polylactic acid, or PLA, is a plant-based material that can be developed into soft, lightweight textile fibers. Whisp applies PLA-based textile development to sleepwear, bedding, and apparel with a focus on moisture movement, faster drying, softness, and breathable comfort.
Rather than relying only on temporary surface finishes, our approach begins with the fiber and fabric construction itself.

Our unique PLA-based cooling fabrics, which are born from nature and derived from reliable plants, are inherently efficient. The process for producing PLA-based fabrics uses 50% less energy than conventional polyester, which is the most common synthetic fiber in the garment industry. This dedication to sustainability extends to daily life and care. Due to their exceptional quick-dry properties, our linens can be laundered and dried using up to 70% less energy, demonstrating that comfort and sustainability are not mutually exclusive.
Every action has an impact. Compared to traditional poly/cotton linens, every time a Whisp sheet is washed and dried, it reduces the emission of CO2 equivalents by about 0.4 kg. This collective impact is significant, meaning our linens could potentially reduce more than one million tons of CO2 emissions in the United States households alone per year.
