Kiana’s Story: Breast Cancer, Menopause, and More Comfortable Nights

An Unexpected Part of Cancer Treatment

I was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma in 2019 at the age of 34.

Following my diagnosis, I underwent a bilateral mastectomy and chemotherapy before beginning hormone therapy.

Although I had prepared myself for many of the commonly discussed side effects of cancer treatment, I was not prepared for the severe impact of medically induced menopause.

I struggled with intense night sweats, sleep deprivation, migraines, and persistent fatigue.

The symptoms affected not only my sleep but also the way I felt and functioned during the day.

Because my cancer was hormone-positive, estrogen and progesterone were not options I could use to manage these symptoms.

For women in similar circumstances, menopause can feel like another major transition layered on top of diagnosis, treatment, recovery, and survivorship.

Sleep became one of the areas in which I most urgently needed relief.

Trying Whisp Cooling Sleepwear

I eventually found Whisp and decided to try its cooling sleepwear.

The pyjamas are made with a plant-based fabric designed to help manage moisture and improve nighttime comfort.

From the first night, I personally noticed a significant difference in how I slept. I was able to sleep without repeatedly waking feeling drenched or uncomfortable.

I also compared my experience wearing Whisp with nights when I wore my regular cotton pyjamas. That comparison helped me recognize how much the fabric touching my body affected my comfort during the night.

When wearing Whisp, I woke feeling more refreshed, energized, and focused.

Why I Am Sharing My Experience

A product cannot remove every challenge associated with cancer treatment or medically induced menopause.

However, greater nighttime comfort can matter enormously when sleep has already become difficult.

For me, finding sleepwear that helped me feel cooler and more comfortable made my nights easier to manage. It also helped me feel more rested and prepared for the day ahead.

I am deeply grateful for my experience with Whisp and plan to order more so that I can wear the sleepwear regularly.

I am sharing my story in the hope that it helps other women navigating breast cancer survivorship, hormone therapy, medically induced menopause, or similar hormonal transitions feel less alone.
